On each of our main sites, there is a Library and Learning Resource Centre. This offers you the widest range of services and facilities, designed to provide access to both the latest hi-tech and traditional learning resources and to promote independent learning.
Free Internet access is available to all students in our Learning Resource Centres, and a range of subject and vocational gateways now link our home page to relevant World Wide Web resources.
We provide: open access IT facilities, e-learning resources, on-line journals, flexible learning materials, individual video viewing, group work areas, an audio workstation and CD ROM information sources. These complement our book and periodical collections. Each centre also provides a support helpdesk and access to a self-service photocopier with printing and binding facilities to assist in assignment and coursework production.
Experienced centre staff are available to deal with learners’ enquiries, to help you access information and to use all the facilities.
You can also consult past exam papers, syllabuses, college and university prospectuses. A guide outlining these services is available at the Helpdesk in any Library and Learning Resource Centre and on the website.
To access all these services, you must register in the Library and Learning Resource Centre in the building where you are studying. You will require the ID card issued to you during enrolment, which must be completed by having a current photograph attached. All students must also sign the ICT Security Policy at enrolment to receive a personal computer log in.
You will find the telephone number for each LRC located in the LRC Contact Page. |
