Brief Description of Project:
GOAL (Generating Online Adult Learning) is a highly innovative Grundtvig Project, successfully submitted and being led by BIFHE. GOAL is a broadly based European Partnership representing the formal, non-formal and informal education and training sectors. It will explore and create entirely new approaches and methods in e training. The Projects aims and objectives are to:

  • Produce a new pedagogic model for e-training for the formal, informal and non-formal sectors.

  • Develop a mechanism to cascade this e-training innovation.

  • Produce applicable European quality standards to underwrite effective e-training for adults.

  • Generate a portfolio of templates/toolkits for the production of accessible materials that do not require trainers to develop high-level ILT skills or the use complicated software.

  • Create and deliver ‘Training for Trainers’ programmes using these templates and toolkits.

  • Underpin training with both virtual and face-to-face support systems for trainers.

  • Monitor and evaluate the success of the training programme and support systems.

  • Pilot e-training to groups of adult trainees in each partner country to cover Active Citizenship; Skills for Employment; National Language Skills; Catering Competences for tourism industry.

  • Revise the standards/toolkits/templates model, then apply to new vocational areas, other European countries and create a foundation for a Grundtvig 3 training course.

  • Disseminate these concrete project outcomes, initially in English, Dutch, Irish and Hungarian but there is the potential for use in any country or language.
